Can I copy or distribute the purchased standard to other persons?

Is the work in the AKS Technical Committees paid?

The work in the technical committees is voluntary and all interested legal entities: from the business community, producers, education and science institutions, laboratories, inspection bodies, consumer associations, associations of citizens and chambers, state administration etc., can be members by nominating their representative.
The member representatives at the committees must represent the general interests, the interests of companies, organizations, consumers etc.
Since the legal entities – interested parties benefit from the AKS TC membership, the costs for the representatives fall burden to the institution/organization that nominated them, i.e. the work in the technical committees is not paid by AKS.

Why become members of AKS Technical Committees?

This is one of the most frequently asked questions and we can say that there are many benefits of which we will mention only a few:
TC MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
• Access to the latest information on standards and the legal regulation, and in that way opportunity to identify the latest trends
• Opportunity for influence and participate in the creation of new standards,
• Opportunity to establish relations and contacts with experts and companies of the same profession from Macedonia and abroad
• Increased corporate image as leader in the appropriate industry branch
• DISCOUNTS for various events and materials (conferences, workshops, magazines) etc.
• DISCOUNT for purchase of standards

Is the use of the standards mandatory?

Pursuant to the Law on Standardization, standards are used voluntarily, i.e. the producers can observe them or can operate according to their own prescribed rules and procedures. However, most often the market where the product is placed dictates the use of the standards that are generally recognized and usable such as the European and international standards.
If the national legal regulation refers to/contains some standard, the use of the standard becomes mandatory.

Can you consult what standards we shall apply in our work?

If you are not sure what standards to purchase, we can provide you with information on:
• thematic references to standards that exist in your specified area, at AKS Information Centre – tel. +381(0)38/512779, aksinfo@rks-gov.net
• the object and the scope of the standards set out in the information for each standard at AKS website
AKS does not provide recommendations on which standards should be using for your business.

If a standard is withdrawn, is there another standard to replace it?

If a standard is replaced by another one, there is a hyperlink to its successor in the "Link with national standards". In such a case it is recommended to use the subsequent standard. Some of the withdrawn standards are not replaced by others.
